Sikirica determined after an autopsy on Kathleen Wilkinson today the cause of death to be asphyxia by strangulation.

On Sunday June 1st, 2014 the Sheriff’s Office responded to 9 Meadow Rue Place in the Town of Malta to check on the welfare of Kathleen Wilkinson who had not been heard from in several days. The responding Deputy was greeted at the door by Charles Wilkinson. After a period of discussion at the door Charles Wilkinson allowed the Deputy to enter the residence at which time the Deputy located the body of Kathleen Wilkinson deceased on the floor of a first floor bedroom. No immediate cause of death was obvious. The investigation revealed that Mrs. Wilkinson was killed by her husband during a physical domestic dispute and that Charles Wilkinson had continued to live in the house over the weekend while his wife lay deceased in the bedroom. Cause of death and time of death are yet to be determined pending results of an autopsy to be conducted later today at Albany Medical Center.

Charles L. Wilkinson was charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree and was arraigned in the Town of Malta Court. He was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail without bail.
