Saratoga County District Attorney Karen A. Heggen provides the following in response to inquiries from several entities regarding stories published today concerning the Grand Jury proceedings regarding the November 20, 2022 incident in the City of Saratoga Springs:
“As with all cases, I anticipate that the defense attorneys will follow the common practice of filing motions that seek the Court’s review of the Grand Jury proceedings. Here, I am confident that the Grand Jury process was done in compliance with the laws of the State of New York.
Further, while I would like to respond to and answer the numerous questions I have received today regarding those proceedings, those very same laws expressly prohibit me from commenting further on the specifics of any Grand Jury presentation. I stand by my Office’s presentation and await the judicial review.”
DA Heggen will have nothing further today regarding this matter.
