Saratoga County District Attorney Karen A. Heggen announced that Sam Donadio (DOB 08/29/52), of 523 Lake View Road, Broadalbin, NY, pleaded guilty today in Saratoga County Court to Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, before Saratoga County Court Judge James A. Murphy, III.
Sam Donadio pleaded guilty and admitted today in Court that between 2014 and 2017 he stole from Stewart’s Shops Corporation. District Attorney Heggen stated that the defendant, as President of Power Pallet Recycling, knowingly and unlawfully withheld $152,086.61 from Stewart’s Shops Corporation over a 3 year period of time. Heggen stated that during this time-frame Donadio under reported to Stewarts’s Shop Corporation the weight of the cardboard which he recycled on behalf of Stewart’s by approximately 20%. The scheme was designed to increase profits for Power Pallet Recycling by stealing a percentage of the recycling money owed to Stewart’s Shops Corporation.
The District Attorney’s Office has been in regular contact with the Stewart’s Shop Corporation throughout the proceedings. Assistant District Attorney Charles Bucca prosecuted the case and deferred comment until sentencing, which is currently scheduled for November 5, 2018.
